For the launch of their new product line, Clear Genius, Bliss skincare reached out to CNX, the agency of Condé Nast, to pitch for the business and CNX won. We came up with a weird idea—what if we created faceless skincare videos? So we set out to produce a completely faceless campaign featuring soothing, oddly satisfying visual metaphors for each unique product. Crafted by the artists at Serial Cut, the ingredient benefits were subtly highlighted through digital ads, online videos, social media animations, billboards, and wild postings. This thoughtful approach resonated with the sensitivities of the moment, offering a sense of tranquility during global turmoil, while still promoting the product.
The strategy paid off. Upon arrival in major retailers including Walgreens and Ulta, coupled with the release of the campaign Bliss “Clear Genius” became the #2 bestselling skincare line in Walmart and Target.
Not bad for a new challenger product launch.
